The Origin Story

How did VisionDevCamp come to be? Let’s step back 16 years to the launch of iPhone… At Macworld Expo on January 9th, 2007, in San Francisco, Apple announced iPhone. I was at the event on a press pass relating to my work at the time as an Industry Analyst for The 451 Group and a part-time Mac OS X contributing writer for various publications and sites. VisionDevCamp is a not-for-profit developer event focused on creating applications for Apple Vision Pro and visionOS. Attendees are encouraged to develop native visionOS, Unity PolySpatial, and web applications during the event. VisionDevCamp will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area shortly after the US launch of the Apple Vision Pro, expected to be in the first quarter of 2024.
